THE AMERICAN LEGION

Welcome to Coastside Post 474

The American Legion, established by an act of Congress in 1919, was instrumental in getting the original GI Bill through Congress & the creation of the Department of Veterans Affairs. It is the largest wartime veterans service organization with nearly two million members & more than 12,000 posts throughout America.

About Coastside Post 474

Our Venue

The American Legion Coastside Post 474 is a small coastside watering hole located 1 block from Pillar Point Harbor in "Princeton-by-the-Sea" aka Half Moon Bay. A place for U.S. veterans, their families & friends to gather and enjoy swapping stories over a draft beer, shot or a specialty cocktail.

Coastside Post 474 is not just a bar.

We have many things to offer folks of all ages. From indoor & outdoor games to special events. Directly to the right of the front door is the path to our beautiful Veteran's Garden. It is a must-see work of art and beauty created by our own post members.

Post 474 is a family & dog friendly venue with a huge covered back patio equipped with a full outdoor kitchen. Outdoor live music stage, picnic tables with umbrellas, large lawn area for well-behaved dogs to run & play. There is a ping pong table on the patio & cornhole & horseshoes on the lawn.

Inside the bar there are 2 dart boards, playing cards, cribbage, dominos, dice, chess and most important we have a full bar, including soft drinks, iced tea and juices. We sell snacks like candy, popcorn, chips, beef sticks and peanuts. There are several eateries & hotels within walking distance.
